Abrazo Advantage
Health Plan (HMO)
For more than 25 years we have provided health care services to Arizona residents under our Phoenix Health Plan name, which contracts with the Arizona Health Care Cost Containment System (AHCCCS). In 2003, when President George W. Bush signed the Medicare Prescription Drug, Improvement, and Modernization Act of 2003 into law it added prescription drug coverage to the Medicare program. In 2006, all people with Medicare were able to enroll in health plans that cover prescription drugs. Since we had many years experience providing health care services to individuals we decided to enter into a contract with the Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS) to provide Medicare beneficiaries with medical coverage including prescription drug coverage that was now part of the Medicare program.
It was perfect fit and we officially launched Abrazo Advantage Health Plan (AAHP), a Medicare Advantage Prescription Drug plan in January 1, 2006. AAHP is an Arizona-based company providing medical, hospital and prescription drug coverage to Arizona Medicare beneficiaries living in Maricopa and Pinal Counties.
AAHP is proud to offer two Medicare Advantage Health Plans:
